Our Tips & Tricks is specifically designed to assist clients and future clients with some value add services to get the job done on time and ways you can assist your cleaner.

Regular Services

  • All rooms, closets, cupboards orderly to assist cleaning process
  • Floors free of personal belongings ie) clothes, debris, trash, toys etc
  • All light bulbs working
  • Pre-Spray heavily soiled ovens & burner pans
  • Have the appropriate cleaning supplies/ tools and located in one location
  • Provide an expectation list or additional duty list if time allows
  • Detail where trash is to be disposed of
  • Provide 48 hours notice for cancellations or rescheduling of cleaning date
  • Move out appliances or heavy furniture from walls
  • Provide key to management if not able to be home or make arrangements for access to your home
  • Leave payment for services at your home or present to cleaning staff at completion
  • Provide your fax or email address or mailing address for payment invoices to be sent to you.

Move Outs

  • Walls empty of pictures, nails, pins, stickers, tape, wax, adhesive squares or strips

  • Smoke alarm has a working battery
  • Floors free of trash or debris

  • Provide 48 hours notice for cancellations or rescheduling of cleaning date
  • Move out appliances or heavy furniture from walls

Not quite there yet for Steps 1 & 2? Then proceed by attrition, removing one piece of clothing you wouldn't be caught dead in. Toss that chipped or cracked plate or toss a single remaining item.

ANTI CLUTTER TIPS

  1. Finding the time:
    • Get up half an hour earlier and do the small jobs.
    • Get a portable phone, or headset- multitask
    • Learn to program your VCR and watch the show later after your chores are done.
    • Distracted by the TV/ Radio? Set up a card table, sort papers, fold laundry, put photos in albums.
  2. Systems:
    • Buy a new piece of clothing, toss or give a old piece away.
    • Turn your daily planner into a vertical file, tuck bills, tickets and invites into the date you need to pay or use them.
    • Make files not piles and itemize, label everything
    • Loading the dishwasher, put all spoons into one section of utensil basket, same with forks, saves time sorting after.
    • Shoe boxes, Glue photos or labels on ends.
    • Never go up or downstairs empty handed
    • Leave a basket at top and bottom, fill with items going up or down. Make one trip a day.
    • Put what you use most often where it is easiest to reach
    • Check your drawers and kitchen cabinets
    • Can't bear to toss it out> Put it all in a box, seal and do not label. If you haven't opened it within a year, toss it without opening
  3. Tossing Stuff:
    • Giving your stuff to charity, takes the sting out of parting.
    • Old Towels and blankets, give to charities or animal shelters or cut into rags.
    • Rip out your favorite articles, recipes, etc file and make scrap books.
    • Never let laundry pile up. Do a load a day if you must
    • Use sorting boxes: white, dark, colors and leave near the machines. When full do a load.
    • Pay if you can to have the laundry done for you.
    • Purchase wrinkle free clothes so ironing doesn't become a problem .
  4. Storage:
    • Store logically, like things with like things, label everything.
    • Buy matching set of clear food storage containers.
    • Square ones take up less space.
    • Use what you have: Old pillow cases and decorating baskets become instant storage for some things.
    • Deep closets: Stick mirror squares on the ceiling to see what's back there.
    • Label, Label, Label, Drawers, Boxes, all storage containers.
    • Make use of space saver ideas, products and techniques.
    • Recycle whenever and as much as possible.
  5. Finding stuff later:
    • Make a list or index detailing where you have put items and file ie Red Box under bed= costumes.
  6. Paper Chase:
    • Remove your name from supplied mailing lists.
    • Immediately get rid of circulars enclosed in bills.
    • Keep bank records for seven years.
    • Keep income tax returns forever.
    • Home improvement records until you sell or move.
    • Cancel subscriptions and papers.
    • Put sign on mailbox: No Junk Mail.
    • Talk to your postal person.
    • Recycle.
